Upper GI Endoscopy
What is an Upper GI Endoscopy / EGD?
An Upper GI Endoscopy or an EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) is a procedure
where a physician will insert a scope through the throat to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and first part of the small intestine.
The procedure is different from a colonoscopy.
What is the cost of the Upper GI Endoscopy / EGD through the ColonoscopyAssist program?
The cost of the procedure is :
- $820 if performed at the same time as a colonoscopy.
- $975 if scheduling just an Upper Endoscopy.
Pathology* and sedation are included in the rates listed above.
* EGD pathology is far more expensive than pathology from a colonoscopy and on average exceeds the cost of the procedure itself. The cost of all pathology is included in ColonoscopyAssists all-inclusive rate.
