Please read this page in its entirety for additional details.

What does our colonoscopy flat rate include?

The $1075, $1175 or $1275 flat rate is truly an all-inclusive rate. It includes all costs related to the procedure and there are no hidden charges. The price includes:

1) Physician fees
2) Facility or Hospital fees
3) Sedation or Anesthesia costs
4) Removal of polyps and taking of biopsies
5) Pathology Cost (Lab fees)
6) Reference Pathology cost

Note: Our fee includes the removal and pathology lab fees for an unlimited number of polyps and biopsies.
This is important as normally colonoscopy costs stated do not include pathology lab fees. Pathology in some cases can exceeds the cost of the procedure.

What does our flat rate not include?

1) Consultations : Consultations are usually not needed for patients going through the program unless medially necessary.
If you would like to request a pre-procedure or follow up consultation you will be responsible for charges associated. The program offers a discounted consult at approx $100.
Follow-up consults should not be confused with getting your results. A physician will talk to you prior to and after your procedure to let you know how everything went. This is included in our flat rate.

2) Follow Up Care : Our rate only covers the procedure and does not cover follow up treatment after the colonoscopy.

What if I have a lot of polyps or biopsies?

Finding polyps is integral to preventing cancer and we support the philosophy of finding, removing and testing as many polyps as possible. All polyps are sent to a lab for testing and our all-inclusive flat rate includes polyp removal and pathology for any number of polyps or biopsies without restriction. That means they could find 2,3 or even 12 polyps and you would not be responsible for any extra cost.
Usually, the cost of pathology is significant. Pathology from just 4 specimens could cost more than the price of the procedure.

I'd like to get a colonoscopy. What is the process?

The process is simple :

STEP 1 - Request an Appointment by completing the appointment request form here.

STEP 2 - Select the closest facility and complete your forms

STEP 3 - Get your appointment confirmation and prep instructions

STEP 4 - Go for your appointment

What are the payment terms?

Payments can be made with a debit card, credit card, HSA card, check or money order and are due prior to the appointment date.
If you are unable to afford the entire payment at once, you can choose to apply for an interest free colonoscopy payment plan.

Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

We understand that life is unpredictable. You can cancel your appointment up to 2 business days prior to your appointment without any penalty. If you've made a payment you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel within 2 days of your procedure, any cancellation charges from the physician office will be passed on to you.

Do you schedule Upper Endoscopy procedures?

Yes. An Upper Endoscopy can be scheduled at a subsidized rate at the same time as a colonoscopy. The cost of an Upper GI Endoscopy is $975-$1175 if scheduled alone or $820 if scheduled with a Colonoscopy.
Just select the procedure in your scheduling forms.

Will I get my procedure reports and results?

Yes. Just like any other medical service, you will receive a detailed report from the physician office after your colonoscopy. You will also receive a copy of your report for your records from the program once we have it available. A copy of your report is also sent to your primary physician.

Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for my colonoscopy?

Yes. You will receive a receipt from our program that should be used when filing Form 8889 with your taxes. We highly recommend using your HSA and FSA accounts to pay for your colonoscopy.

How much does a colonoscopy cost on average?

Prices for colonoscopies vary greatly depending on the city and facility you go to. You have to keep in mind that a colonoscopy results in the patient being billed by 3-4 different entities. A patient should expect bills from the physician office, surgery center or hospital, anesthesia group and pathology group.

Without insurance, a patient should on average expect to pay $2500 - $3000 for a colonoscopy. A considerable savings can be achieved if you schedule through ColonoscopyAssist.

Why is the cost of a colonoscopy significantly lower through the program?

ColonoscopyAssist was founded on the principle that more people will get screened if the procedure is made affordable and a known cost. The cost of the procedure is kept low through the program to encourage underinsured individuals to get screened. The rate is achieved through physicians and facilities that accept a discounted rate because they believe in the mission of the program. The wonderful physicians that participate in the program are the real ones to thank.

Will the procedure hurt?

Colonoscopies do not hurt. They do make you feel uncomfortable. To make the experience pleasant, we have included sedation / anesthesia costs into the price. You will be comfortable during your procedure.
